Welcome!

Welcome to the First Glasgow Boys' Brigade's website, the Founder Company and the original Company. The First Glasgow Company and the Former Members are very proud of our heritage and place in history.

This website is intended to provide some background to the birth of the first ever uniformed voluntary youth organisation in the World.

Within the website are several sections the first being the Company's History including The Founder. The members of the commitee of the Formerr Members Association are listed and if you were in The First Glasgow and have lost touch please let us know as we are attempting to compile a comprehensive list of past Company members. We would be delighted to hear from anyone who is a former member or who knows the whereabouts of any old Company boy.

Should you wish to contact us please see the Founder Members Committee whose names and contact details are listed.

If you wish to make contact with old friends or have a story to share of your time in the BB please place your comments on the Forum page.

We hope our website will continue to expand with contributions from those associated with the First.

Please note all the sections of the website are not yet fully active and are under construction.

The Hymn

Will your anchor hold in the storms of life,
When the clouds unfold their wings of strife?
When the strong tides life, and the cables strain,
Will your anchor drift, or firm remain?

We have an anchor that keeps the soul,
Stedfast and sure while the billows roll,
Fastened to the rock which cannot move,
Grounded firm and deep in the Saviour's love!

Will your anchor hold in the straits of fear,
When the breakers roar and the reef is near?
While the surges rave, and the wild winds blow,
Shall the angry waves then your bark o'erflow?

Will your eyes behold through the morning light
The city of gold and the harbour bright?
Will you anchor safe by the heavenly shore,
When life's storms are past for ever more?
